MilSim West Jump to Orenburg: a first airsoft milsim, part 1

Key points: MilSim West Jump Orenburg

• Before play, players recite the MilSim West pledge: call your hits, touch no one or their gear without consent, respect the venue and leave no trash.
• The event covers about 3,000 acres and runs through the night, and the squad inserts by truck on a ride role-played as a C-130 jump.
• On the second morning the platoon marches out, builds a makeshift shelter at a trench line, and posts up partway up a hill, short of the crest.
• After contact on the hilltop, leaders order a short retrograde and send the squad back to the trench to set up a base of fire.
• With the opposing force coming down a tree line about 200 yards out, the trench crew puts a machine gun in the center, holds fire until attackers are in range and conserves ammunition.
• Lilly's takeaway is that a trench works like an outpost: you have to expose your head to shoot, and enough attackers can overrun even a good position.
• This is the first of two gameplay videos from the event, and a third video will show the full kit.

About this Tactics and Training video

MilSim West airsoft from Lilly Tactical: part 1 of the Jump to Orenburg event, a 3,000-acre game and the creator's first milsim. Players recite the safety pledge, insert on a truck ride role-played as a C-130 jump, and build shelter at a trench line. The platoon holds a hillside position, falls back to the trench as a base of fire, and holds fire as the opposing force pushes downhill, until numbers overrun the position. The video is a Lilly Tactical and Arcturus collaboration.
